Facing the Dawn by Cynthia Ruchti

Facing the Dawn, by Cynthia Ruchti, is full of heartache after heartache. I wasn't certain I wanted to stick with the story because there was so much devastation going on in Mara's life. Everything was unraveling so quickly that I didn't think it could come back together in 300+ plages, but it did and it did so nicely. Mara learns through the pages who she needs to rely on and put her trust in. God helps her through her tough times by providing friends she didn't know she so desperately needed. It's a reminder that we aren't supposed to handle everything on our own.

This was a clean read. It took me a little longer to get through than other books like it because it was a little heavy of a topic. I didn't feel right being entertained by the pain associated with the story. The author does a good job of presenting the Gospel and giving honor to the Lord. I appreciate her efforts.
