False Pretenses by Kathy Herman

False Pretenses by Kathy Herman is the first in a new series (Secrets of Roux River Bayou) by this seasoned suspense author. Kathy doesn't disappoint with this new volume and while the main characters are new, we're reunited with some favorites from her last series (don't you just love it when an author does that?).

Zoe Broussard is the owner of Zoe B's, a hip new restaurant in a bayou town, but Zoe is keeping secrets from her past and is trying to live the life she always dreamed of. When she begins to find anonymous letters that say, "I know what you did" she tries to make amends the only way she knows how to. Unfortunately there's a case of mistaken identity and the wrong she tries to correct is not what the letter writer is referring to. Now Zoe needs to face her fears and confess to her husband the truth that she's been hiding throughout their five year marriage. But can she do it before it's too late?

Kathy Herman weaves a tale of suspense and confession that will keep your attention while you try to finish this book in one sitting. This is the kind of book that you don't want to put down.

Thanks, Kathy, for this CLEAN READ! Can't wait to read the rest of this series.
