The Reluctant Prophet by Nancy Rue

I fell in love with this book from the first line, "I found Jesus seven years ago, but until that Sunday morning, I didn't know what to do with Him." From there it was a ride that I didn't want to get off of. Forty-two year old Allison Chamberlain turned her back on the family business and fortune that went with it and spends her days driving a horse-drawn carriage through the historic district of her town. That is, until God nudges her to buy a Harley. She obeys and keeps obeying the nudges that she gets from Him until the life that she's been comfortable with is but a memory. This is a story of how one woman gets shaken up when she dares to give it all up for the Lord and how He uses her to change lives around her. What a fantastic book. Well written and easy to read, the characters come to life. Sometimes scary, it forces you to look beyond your comfortable neighborhood to the darkness that sometimes is just blocks away. This is the first I've read by this author and I've got to tell you that I've already ordered five of her other books. The first in a series, The Reluctant Prophet, is one that will cause you to reflect on your own Christian life and hopefully nudge you to do more. Highly recommended.
This book was provided for review as part of the Amazon Vine program.
