The Plans We Made by Kathryn Cushman& Lauren Beccue

The Plans We Made, by Kathryn Cushman & Lauren Beccue captivated my interest from the back cover copy and drew me in with the first few pages. This story is set in Newport, Rhode Island be still my heart and has touches of the RI I remember strewn throughout, including a shoutout to Del's. Sigh. I felt as though I was back there, taking in the scenery and ocean smells. That longing ache will never go away.

I digress.

The book made me laugh out loud, grabbing the attention of a friend, "What are you laughing at?" And it made me cry. A beautiful story of lives mended, relationships born, and new beginnings. It's a clean read, appropriate for readers of all ages, and has a gospel message.

This is the first I've heard of Lauren Beccue, but I've read Kathryn Cushman for years. The collaboration between the two equalled a beautiful book and I look forward to more from the duo.
