Point of Danger is the first in a new series by Irene Hannon. The series is aptly titled A Triple Threat because we see in this first volume that there are actually three crimes to solve. Irene always keeps the reader on the edge of her seat and she does it again in this book. I loved the nod to her seaside novels in the story. This story centered on Eve Reilly, a conservative radio talk show host, and some threats against her. While trying to avoid harm, she joins forces with Police detective Brent Lange and the two try to keep her safe while solving the crimes and while falling for each other. The battle to safety and love is hard but worth it in the end.
The book was good, but the culprit seemed unrealistic to me. I was 100% into the story until that was revealed and then I just felt like I was reading something juvenile. I like fiction that I can believe feels real and this just didn't. I will continue to read the series and other books by this author because she generally does a great job at keeping me entertained with clean stories and characters who battle with their faith.
