The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs Kip by Sara Brunsvold

The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs Kip, by Sara Brunsvold, is the first I've even heard of this author. This book did not disappoint. It shares the tender story of an end-of-life friendship between and older woman and a young journalist. The sub-plot of the immigrants in Kansas City was a meaningful addition, though Mrs Kip on her own would have been enough to move the story. This elderly woman was written in such a way that she came to life for me and I saw several of our church members in her.

Mrs Kip allowed her faith in God to move her forward and didn't take her eyes off of Him or His Word. She is the type of woman I aspire to be. Loving people into the kingdom.

Aidyn was wise to befriend her and look beyond the bottom-level assignment of her editor to get to the deeper story. Just a reminder of how everyone has a story to share, and age doesn't determine our usefulness. Beautifully written. Highly recommended.
