Everything is Just Beginning by Erin Bartels

Everything is Just Beginning, by Erin Bartels, is the author's latest release and cements her to my list of favorite storytellers. This book is a delight to the senses. Told from the voice of a man, yet written by a woman, it draws the reader in with a classic down-on-his-luck hero who needs the love of a family. I didn't want to put it down. The mark of a good book for me is always how fast the time goes on the exercise bike when I'm reading it. The time flew with this one (thank you, Erin). This kind of book always makes it hard for me to choose my next one to read because I know it's not going to be as good.

In this story we meet Michael, a young man who wants to succeed in music but is stuck in a band of mediocre musicians. He attends a New Year's Eve party and his life changes instantly.

Beautifully written, it deals with the subject of pride, fame, and ego. Some deep truths in this book.

I really enjoyed the different song lyrics throughout the book. And it wasn't until I was nearly done that I caught the chapter titles for what they were. I guess I was so into the story that I never noticed!

This book was provided for review by Revell.

Get it. It's a great read to start your year with.
