Long Way Gone by Charles Martin

Once in a while you read a book that wraps itself around your heart. This is what Long Way Gone by Charles Martin did for me. A modern-day retelling of The Prodigal Son, this is more than just a story,  it's a supernatural experience. I don't use those words lightly and may have never thought this way about a book before, but this book has the power to bring life back to a heart that's dead and cold. Somewhere within the story there lies truth. So many lines rang true to my heart. This was a refreshing book laced with hope and the love of a Father. One that will attract readers of all kinds. If you know a reader who needs to know their value then point them to this book. It was a pleasure to read.
