Waves of Mercy by Lynn Austin

Why can't every book be like this one? This is why I read. I laughed and cried and didn't want this book to end yet I couldn't put it down. I anguished between lingering over the story for several days and just rushing through to the end. I ended up in the tub for a little too long with this book, tears streaming down my face, to the end.
Waves of Mercy by Lynn Austin is a perfect read. It follows the life of Anna Nicholson as she vacations in Michigan while trying to decide if she should marry her fiance out of what's best for the family instead of for love. She befriends a man in a lower class and he explains life from a Christian perspective. There is certainly much more to this book but I don't want to give anything away. Likely the best book I've read in a long time. I can always count on this author to write books that captivate my imaginings long after I've put them down. You will not be disappointed with this one.
